Cakebread Cellars
Starting in 1994, Rob and TEP have designed the mechanical systems
for 3 phases of expansions at Cakebread Cellars. The long range
planning that comes from a family owned and operated winery fosters a
unique blend of premium features and innovation. In conjunction
with IRAPP/APCCO we designed a hybrid, energy efficient, chiller system
that combined a natural gas engine driven chiller with an electric motor
driven chiller. The natural gas engine driven chiller was the base
load chiller and it included a waste heat recovery system used to
pre-heat water used in the winery hot water system. All phases of
work included quiet, ducted air handling systems for improved winery
aesthetics. By working closely with the Bruce Cakebread and
the architectural team we located mechanical piping and equipment to
minimize impact on winery functions and aesthetics.
